Hire me for Application Management

What is an application manager?
An application manager ensures that the applications within an organization function properly. Without these applications, employees cannot do their work and business activities come to a standstill. It is therefore not surprising that organizations have often added one or more application managers to their IT department. Or outsource this management to an IT company. The application manager keeps the software available, resolves problems and implements user wishes. For example, the application specialist adds new functionalities. This professional also answers technical questions from users.

Tasks of an application manager include:
-
Manage one or more applications
-
Oversee maintenance, upgrading and installation
-
Detect and resolve problems
-
Improve the performance of applications
-
Provide and test functionalities
-
Train users in how to use it
-
Switching with key users and suppliers
-
Advise on required applications
-
Prepare manuals and other documentation

Difference between functional and technical application manager

We distinguish two types of functions within application management:

-
Technical application manager: an application manager who manages various applications, resolves problems and implements user wishes.
-
Functional application manager: an application manager who is responsible for one specific application. Consider an ERP system or a CRM system. The focus is on the ease of use of the application.

The difference between technical application management and functional application management is - as the terms suggest - that the technical application manager has more technical knowledge. Functional application management focuses more on monitoring and facilitating applications. Technical application management is about implementing, improving and maintaining applications.
